We will be planting approximately 100 trees and shrubs in a reverting agricultural field. FCVC will provide refreshments, snacks, tools and gloves. The planting site has some wet areas and we will be planting rain or shine, please dress accordingly and wear appropriate footwear.

Dark Sky at Scarlett Springs

Take some time to slow down and enjoy the rhythms of twilight! Experience a relaxing evening of watching the stars come out under the Edinboro sky. Richard Gosnell, Penn State Behrend astronomy lecturer and a Kripalu trained Mindful Outdoor Guide, will explain the basics of relaxing your mind for observing nature at twilight and the basics of viewing the stars of the night sky. He will also discuss the historical connection between Halloween and astronomy. The group will take some time to watch the darkening sky and listen to the patterns of the forest at twilight.
